For the first time in Asia, Daelim Museum will be holding an exhibition titled “CoCo Capitan: Is it Tomorrow Yet?” from CoCo Capitan of Young Art Star, which focuses on global brands and mediums, during August 2, 2018 to January 27, 2019. Previous exhibitions have introduced over 150 photos, paintings, hand-writings, videos, and installations from CoCo Capitan, who has always expressed herself in an honest and audacious manner without being tied to tradition.

CoCo Capitan has become a novel sensation in the fine arts as well as the fashion industry and other commercial industries with honest hand-writings that express the various emotions that are experienced or are being experienced by millenials in their period of growth and photos with unstructured colors and compositions. Gucci’s 2017 F/W Collection Collaboration and the Art Wall Project became a hot topic of interest for people all over the world through various online and offline media, and is known as a key example requiring the ideal collaboration between brands and artist.

This exhibition will include installations that re-interpret pop art through a modern lens, paintings that show the artist’s imagination, and witty handwriting that express opposing emotions to fully exhibit the artistic world of CoCo Capitan. Embodying the various emotions of anxiety pertaining to the worries of today and for the future, her artwork resonates with the hearts of many, whether they are going through the emotional roller coaster of adolescence or the storms of growing pains.
