Inya Lake
Inya Lake is one of the few natural lakes in Yangon and the largest, spanning about 4 kilometers. It is a popular destination for young people in Yangon, as it offers a green and relaxing environment. The area around Inya Lake is dotted with banks, restaurants, and cafes. Additionally, sports such as sailing and rowing are now available at the yacht clubs near its shores.

Swe Taw Myat Pagoda (Buddha Tooth Relic Pagoda)
One of Yangon’s modern-day deities, the Temple of the Holy Seti, houses a statue of Gautama Buddha, which is made of ivory and visible to the public from the outside. It is similar to the Ananda Seti, which is enshrined in the temple and located just south of Yangon International Airport.

Reclining Buddha
The six-story statue of the Buddha is 16 meters high and 65 meters long. It is very reverent, with its pale face, red lips, and blue eyes, as well as its golden tomb and red nails. Its palm contains 108 red and gold symbols, depicting the Buddha’s “signs” or immortal images of the Buddha’s life.

Karaweik Palace
Opened in 1973, the palace stands 19 meters (60 feet) tall at its highest point. The imposing palace building is built in the style of traditional royal watercraft and it symbolizes a pair of mythical peacocks living side by side.

City Hall
City Hall is located in the heart of downtown Yangon and is considered to be an exemplary building of Myanmar architecture. Begun in 1926 and completed 10 years later, it is an ancient heritage site in Yangon and the seat of the Yangon Municipal Welfare Committee. It is seen alongside architectural works of the last century.

The Confederate War Memorial Cemetery, officially known as the Allied War Memorial Cemetery, is located near the town of Quang Cong in Phuong Township, 32 kilometers north of Yangon. Opened in 1951, the cemetery honors Allied soldiers who lost their lives during the Second World War.

Shwedagon Pagoda
The Shwedagon Pagoda, standing at a height of 326 feet and shining with its golden spire, is a sacred site with a history of over 2,500 years. It is said that if one has not visited the Shwedagon Pagoda, they have not truly experienced Myanmar. The pagoda was built to enshrine the relics of the Buddha, including his hair and other sacred items, which were brought to the site for veneration. Located on Singuttara Hill, covering an area of 114 acres to the west of Kandawgyi Lake, the Shwedagon Pagoda is one of the most revered Buddhist landmarks in Myanmar and an important symbol of devotion for the Burmese people.
